In this workshop, acclaimed local author Annie Fox shares the process that enabled her to write her latest YA novel, Leeta Simtar: A Life on Two Planets, a story about an interspecies hybrid who travels 40 light years from her home planet to find a real home.

Bring an idea for a story or one you’re working on and Annie will give you the tools you need to start developing unforgettable worlds and characters.

Cocktails with Kyle is an immersive cocktail class and experience led by award-winning mixologist Kyle Peete at the Hollywood Room of the Napa Valley Distillery. The class teaches participants how to make three classic or themed cocktails, with a focus on history, tools, and techniques. Classes typically run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and include light snacks, a welcome mocktail, and recipes to take home. This is the day for parents to dress their kids (and themselves, if they wish.) in their Halloween finest, and come Downtown to Trick or Treat. Between 11 and 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 25th, the sidewalks will be packed with children looking for a sweet handout.

Businesses will be displaying black and orange balloons at their doors, an invitation for kids to visit. The odds are really good that they will get a treat, not a trick. Even if you don’t have children, get yourself a coffee or cool drink, find a good place to sit, and watch the fun.
